Dr. Erica Holzbaur is serving as a co-chair of an upcoming Gordon Conference titled “Cell Biology of the Neuron: Emerging Themes in Neuronal Trafficking, Homeostasis, Synapse Function and Disease Mechanisms.” The conference, set for June 24-29 of this year, promises to attract leaders in the field who are at the cutting-edge of nerve cell research. Themes will “emphasize fundamental cell biology while illustrating its relevance to understanding the aetiology of neurological disorders.”

In addition to hosting research at the convergence of cell biology and neuropathology, organizers are addressing the empowerment of female researchers. An informal “Power Hour”  will address the challenges women face in science and explore means to support their professional growth.
