All of us at the Center for MechanoBiology wish to pay tribute to the members of our research community who leave behind a lasting legacy – and whose pioneering work helped shape our center. Learn more about their life and stories below.

Barbara G. Pickard

Professor Barbara G. Pickard played a foundational role in ideas that helped shape CEMB, and was a pioneer and tireless advocate for the fields of mechanobiology, of plant sciences, and cellular electrophysiology.

William C. Hunter

William (Bill) C. Hunter of the New Jersey Institute of Technology was the founding director of diversity of the CEMB and played a major role in establishing the educational, diversity and outreach components of our new center.
