People’s Choice Award Given to Eoin McEvoy at Annual PSOC meeting

CEMB Postdoctoral Fellow, Eoin McEvoy, was awarded the “People’s Choice” award at last week’s Physical Sciences in Oncology (PSOC) meeting for his poster, “An active free-energy-based model to investigate cancer cell invasion.”

This award recognizes trainees who present posters to non-sicentists in an engaging and accessible manner. Judging was done by patient advocates or other members of the public who attended the meeting at the University of Minnesota who have an interest in cancer research, but are not cancer researchers themselves. This award emphasizes the importance for scientists to make their research accessible not only to the scientific community, but also patients and the public.
