The 2019 summer undergraduate research cohort consisted of 18 top undergraduates from around the country. Over the course of 10 weeks, the students became valued, contributing members of their research groups at University of Pennsylvania and Washington University in St. Louis. In addition to conducting novel independent research with graduate student and postdoctoral mentors, the program participants also engaged in science communication and professional development training, networking events, and social activities.
The program culminated in a research symposium where each student presented on their research to the CEMB community. More information about each participant and their research abstracts can be found on the Trainees webpage. A full program of the UPenn Research Symposium can be found here.
In addition to outstanding research talks, several students will be presenting their research at the upcoming International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) and BioMedical Engineering Society (BMES) conferences.
